Intro

Barou’s goal has tied the score for Italy in Match 5 of the Neo Egoist League. With the game riding on the last point, Isagi’s “missing piece” Hiori enters the fray. Can Hiori shake off the “soccer curse” he carries and trigger a chemical reaction? Meanwhile, the liberated Barou has established a new “design” for the team, and they’re evolving at an explosive rate! And with Kaiser waiting for his chance to strike, the battle to be king of the match will be a fierce one!

Blue Lock Volume 27: Summary

The match between Bastard München and Italy Ubers reaches its climax as both teams stand on match point. Hiori, stepping onto the field for the first time, is revealed to be a fellow Metavision user, instantly syncing with Isagi’s vision. However, Lorenzo and the Ubers remain a formidable force, forcing Isagi and Hiori to push their limits.

As the game unfolds, Kaiser and Ness execute a brilliant play, breaking through the defense, only for Lorenzo to heroically block Kaiser’s finishing move. The intense back-and-forth battle sees Barou, Hiori, and Isagi clashing for dominance, each seeking to impose their vision of soccer. Hiori’s internal struggle is laid bare—he has long viewed soccer as a means to meet his parents’ expectations rather than for his own joy. However, through Isagi, he finds a new purpose: to unlock Isagi’s full potential and create the ultimate striker.

With this realization, Hiori evolves into the ultimate “director,” orchestrating plays with surgical precision. However, their initial attempts to score falter under the pressure of Barou and Kaiser’s relentless interference. Just when it seems like Hiori’s shot could secure victory, Sendou denies him, making Hiori question his very existence in soccer. Isagi, however, refuses to let Hiori fall into despair, pushing him to “reflect” and think one step ahead.

In the final, breathtaking moments, Hiori fully embraces his ego and plays purely for his own enjoyment, linking up with Isagi in a moment of perfect synchronization. Without looking at each other, they execute a flawless pass-and-shoot combination, culminating in Isagi’s decisive goal. Bastard München secures a dramatic 3-2 victory, shocking the world. The fallout from the match sees Barou seething in frustration, Lorenzo and Ubers respecting their opponents, and Kaiser burning with rage at his loss. Meanwhile, Hiori declares his newfound ambition—not just to support Isagi, but to produce the world’s best striker.
