Intro

It’s the final round of the first selection and Team Z needs to win against Team V—the undefeated team of Wing 5—to survive! A triple threat awaits Isagi, including prodigy Seishiro Nagi, who only started playing soccer six months ago. Moreover, Team Z is still one man down after Kuon’s brutal betrayal in the previous game. The odds are stacked against them as they enter the pitch, and Isagi and his teammates are becoming painfully aware of how weak they really are. In the end, is it all pointless? Or will desperation triumph over talent?

Blue Lock Volume 4: Summary

Team Z’s final battle in the first selection pits them against Team V, a team that has been unstoppable thanks to its star trio: the naturally gifted Nagi, the playmaking genius Reo, and the blazing speedster Zantetsu. Team Z must overcome the betrayal of Kuon and a seemingly insurmountable gap in skill to secure victory.

As the match progresses, individual players begin to awaken their hidden potential. Chigiri rediscovers his speed, Kunigami refines his power, and Kiyoshi works tirelessly to unlock his formula for success. Through grit and growth, the team claws its way back from a crushing deficit. The volume highlights the sheer intensity of soccer as both an individual and team sport, culminating in a climactic tie that sets the stage for even greater rivalries to come.

Blue Lock Manga Volume 4: Chapters

Volume 4 covers Chapters 23–31, concluding Team Z’s journey through the first selection round-robin tournament.

Chapter 23: Until They Met

This chapter offers a flashback to how Nagi and Reo first met. Reo, the heir to a wealthy conglomerate, discovers Nagi’s untapped potential when they cross paths at school. Despite Nagi’s indifferent attitude toward soccer, Reo convinces him to join the sport, and the duo quickly becomes an unstoppable force. Meanwhile, Team Z’s preparations for the match against Team V reveal Kuon’s refusal to cooperate, leaving the team at a severe disadvantage.

Chapter 24: Goal Formula

The volume opens with Team Z strategizing for their final match against Team V. With Kuon refusing to cooperate, they must figure out how to stop the dominant trio. Kiyoshi starts searching for his own formula for success, consulting Barou to uncover the mechanisms behind consistent goal-scoring.

Chapter 25: Trick

Kiyoshi learns valuable lessons in spatial awareness and shot precision after a one-on-one showdown with Barou. Meanwhile, the rest of Team Z prepares for the critical match, each player focusing on their role in the team’s survival.

Chapter 26: Last Game

The much-anticipated clash against Team V begins. Despite an aggressive start from Team Z, Nagi and Reo’s flawless teamwork quickly puts Team Z on the back foot. As the first half ends, Team Z trails 0-3, and their morale hangs by a thread.

Chapter 27: Only One

Nagi continues to dominate with his effortless yet devastating plays. Team Z begins to crumble under the weight of his genius, but Chigiri’s determination sparks a moment of hope when he challenges Zantetsu in a high-speed sprint.

Chapter 28: Super Special

Despite the score gap, Hachiraku shines with an incredible solo play, breaking through Team V’s defense and scoring a goal to bring Team Z back into the game. This sparks a glimmer of belief in the team as they rally together.

Chapter 29: Flash of Evolution

Realizing the need for individual growth, each member of Team Z begins to push their limits. Chigiri uses his acceleration to outpace Zantetsu, while Kunigami showcases a new, more precise shot, narrowing the score to 2-3. The team’s collective evolution sets the stage for an electrifying second half.

Chapter 30: Extreme Frenzy

The tension reaches its peak as Team Z fights to equalize. Kiyoshi struggles with hesitation, unable to find his moment to shine. Nagi taunts him for his indecision, but this criticism ignites a spark in Kiyoshi, driving him toward his awakening.

Chapter 31: Awakening

In the final moments of the match, Kiyoshi’s scattered thoughts and experiences align, pushing him into his “awakening.” Meanwhile, Chigiri finally surpasses Zantetsu in a long-distance sprint, scoring the equalizer and tying the game at 3-3. The chapter ends with Team Z poised to make their ultimate comeback.
