The challenge increases in difficulty as more holographic defenders appear, pushing Isagi to refine his skills and rely solely on his abilities rather than teamwork. Through perseverance and adaptability, Isagi clears the First Stage and advances to the next round.
The Second Stage introduces a surprising twist: players must form three-player teams to progress further. Isagi teams up with Meguru Bachira and, unexpectedly, Nagi Seishiro, who abandons his former partner Reo Mikage. Tensions rise as Reo struggles to cope with Nagi’s decision, while Isagi and his new team brace themselves for the next challenge.
The Third Stage pits the newly-formed teams against each other in a 3v3 elimination match, where the winning team can recruit a member from the losing side. Isagi’s team faces Rin Itoshi’s top-ranked trio, composed of the highest-ranking players in Blue Lock. Despite a valiant effort, Team White (Isagi, Nagi, and Bachira) loses to Team Red (Rin, Aryu, and Tokimitsu) in a crushing 2-5 defeat.
Following their loss, Bachira is chosen by Rin’s team, leaving Isagi and Nagi as a two-player team. Disheartened but determined, Isagi must regroup to survive the next round. Volume 6 ends on a cliffhanger as Isagi and Nagi encounter Shoei Barou, setting the stage for their next battle.

Volume 6 covers Chapters 41–49, focusing on the intense second selection process. Isagi and his former teammates from Team Z face a series of individual and team challenges that push their skills, creativity, and mental resilience to the limit.
Chapter 41: Blue Lock Man
The Second Selection begins with Isagi facing Blue Lock Man, an AI goalkeeper programmed to test a striker’s skills. Players must score 100 goals, with increasing difficulty as holographic defenders appear. Isagi struggles at first but refines his direct shot technique, gradually mastering the challenge.
Chapter 42: About-Face
The AI’s level increases, testing players’ stamina, accuracy, and spatial awareness. Isagi learns to control his shots with precision, allowing him to succeed in different scenarios. He clears the First Stage, motivated by his desire to evolve as a striker.
Chapter 43: Three-Man Teams
The Second Stage introduces a new rule: players must form teams of three. Isagi and Bachira agree to team up, but Nagi unexpectedly joins them, abandoning Reo. Tensions rise as Reo feels betrayed, but Nagi sees Isagi as a means to further his growth.
Chapter 44: Rivalry Battle
Isagi’s trio progresses to the Third Stage, a 3v3 team battle. The rules dictate that the winning team can recruit a player from the losing team. Isagi, Bachira, and Nagi prepare for their first match, where they choose to face Rin Itoshi’s team.
Chapter 45: Battle to the Death
The match between Team White (Isagi, Bachira, Nagi) and Team Red (Rin, Aryu, Tokimitsu) begins. Isagi scores first with a clever pass from Bachira, but Rin retaliates with a stunning goal, tying the score 1-1.
Chapter 46: Top 3
Team Red takes the lead as Aryu and Tokimitsu demonstrate their unique abilities. Despite Isagi’s efforts, Team White falls behind 1-3.
Chapter 47: Chemical Reaction
Nagi steps up, using his extraordinary ball control to score and narrow the gap to 2-3. Isagi blocks one of Rin’s shots, keeping Team White in the game.
Chapter 48: The Beauty of the Parabola
Rin scores directly from a corner kick, showcasing his unparalleled skill. With the score at 2-4, Team White faces match point. Isagi tries to outsmart Rin, but Rin’s spatial awareness and skill prove too much, ending the game at 2-5.
Chapter 49: After the Parting
Bachira is taken by Team Red, leaving Isagi and Nagi as a two-player team. Isagi struggles with the loss but finds renewed determination after Nagi’s encouragement. The volume ends with their encounter with Barou, setting the stage for the next battle.
